Marginals LLC (hereinafter “Company”) sets forth the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter “Policy”) regarding the handling of users’ personal information in providing the mobile application “KAJILOG” (hereinafter “App”).

1. Definition of Personal Information

Personal information refers to information as defined under Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information — that is, information relating to a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, or other description contained therein (including information that can be easily cross-referenced with other information to identify a specific individual), or information that contains an individual identification code.

2. Information We Collect

The Company collects the following information in providing the App.

2.1 Information Provided by Users

  • Email address: Collected for authentication and account management
  • Nickname: Used as a display name within the App
  • Household chore data: Information related to household chores and tasks registered by the user (content, completion status, assignee, etc.)

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information: Device type, OS information, app version, device identifier, etc.
  • Usage history: App launch date and time, features used, operation logs, etc.
  • Advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID): A device-specific advertising identifier collected for ad delivery and optimization
  • Other technical information: IP address, cookie information, etc.

3. Purposes of Use of Personal Information

The Company uses collected personal information for the following purposes:
  1. To provide, operate, maintain, protect, and improve the App
  1. For user authentication and account management
  1. For user support and responding to inquiries
  1. To address violations of the Terms of Use and unauthorized use
  1. To send important notices and notifications regarding the service
  1. To analyze App usage and create statistical data

The App uses the following third-party services, and information may be shared with these service providers.

Firebase (Google LLC)

  • Provider: Google LLC
  • Purpose: Authentication, database, and app analytics
  • Information shared: Email address, device information, usage history, etc.

OneSignal

  • Provider: OneSignal, Inc.
  • Purpose: Push notification delivery
  • Information shared: Device information, notification settings, etc.

Google AdMob (Google LLC)

  • Provider: Google LLC
  • Purpose: In-app ad delivery and ad effectiveness measurement
  • Information shared: Advertising identifier (IDFA), device information, app usage, approximate location, etc.
  • Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Opt-out: You can disable ad tracking from iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

5. Security of Personal Information

The Company exercises necessary and appropriate supervision over its employees to ensure the security management of personal information against risks such as loss, destruction, falsification, and leakage. When entrusting the handling of personal information to third parties, the Company also exercises necessary and appropriate supervision to ensure that the entrusted party manages personal information securely.

  • Encryption of personal information
  • Implementation of security systems
  • Regular security audits

6. Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies

The App may use cookies and similar technologies to improve service convenience and analyze usage. Cookies are small data files stored on a user’s device by websites or apps.
Users may disable cookies through their device settings; however, doing so may prevent some features of the App from functioning properly.

7. Advertising

The App displays advertisements using “Google AdMob,” an ad delivery service provided by Google LLC.
  1. AdMob may collect and use advertising identifiers (IDFA) and device information to display personalized ads based on users’ interests.
  1. Users may disable personalized ads by the following method:
      • Go to iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and turn off the checkbox for “KAJILOG.”

8. Disclosure, Correction, and Deletion of Personal Information

Users may exercise the following rights with respect to the Company, in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information:
  1. Disclosure: The right to request disclosure of one’s personal information held by the Company
  1. Correction, addition, or deletion: The right to request correction, addition, or deletion of one’s personal information if the content is inaccurate
  1. Suspension of use or erasure: The right to request suspension of use or erasure of one’s personal information if it is being provided to third parties without the individual’s consent
To exercise these rights, please contact us at the address provided at the end of this Policy. The Company will verify the identity of the requesting user and respond within a reasonable period.

9. Account Deletion

When a user deletes their account, the Company will delete that user’s personal information, except for information required to be retained by law. Please note that deletion may take some time to complete.

10. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. The Company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided personal information to the Company, please contact us at the address provided below.

11. International Data Transfers

The App uses third-party services such as Firebase and OneSignal, and users’ personal information may be stored on servers outside of Japan. These service providers handle personal information in accordance with the data protection laws of their respective countries.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

The Company may update this Policy due to changes in laws, changes in service content, or other reasons. When this Policy is updated, users will be notified via in-app notification or by posting on our website. The updated Policy shall take effect from the date specified in the notification.
